The quarter-final lineup for the women’s category of the President Federation Cup has been confirmed following a series of exciting Round of 16 encounters played across the country.
Former champions Rivers Angels secured their place in the last eight with a convincing 3-1 victory over Abia Angels, while FC Robo Queens edged past Remo Stars Ladies in a thrilling eight-goal contest, winning 5-3.
Heartland Queens delivered one of the most dominant performances of the round, thrashing Ahudiyannem Queens 4-0 to book their quarter-final berth. Edo Queens were equally impressive as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Delta Queens.Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons both survived penalty shootouts after their matches ended in draws during regulation time.
Bayelsa Queens held Ibom Angels to a 1-1 draw before the Akwa Ibom side prevailed 5-4 on penalties, while Nasarawa Amazons defeated Naija Ratels 4-3 in a shootout after a 1-1 stalemate.
Sunshine Queens secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Plateau United Queens, while Confluence Queens recorded the biggest victory of the round, hammering Esthington FC 8-0 to underline their title credentials.
The results set up what promises to be an exciting quarter-final stage as the remaining teams continue their quest for Federation Cup glory.
