The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has inaugurated thirty one commissioners and created new ministries of human capital and entrepreneurial development and wealth creation and employment.
The inauguration of the Commissioners, which took place at the Temporary Governor’s Office at Dan Archibong Lodge, was witnessed by the State deputy Governor Peter Odey and the State Chief Judge, Justice Akon Ikpeme.
The governor charged the new Commissioners to ensure that the state is brought back to life.
As part of the swearing in exercise, portfolios were assigned to the new Commissioners with Mike Odere assigned the ministry of finance while Ededem Ani, heads the ministry of justice with Stephen Odey, a former Senator representing Cross River Northern senatorial district, in charge of the education ministry.
Dr. Beatrice Igwe, a former bursar of the University of Calabar, takes charge of the housing while a former State publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) superintendent ministry of information.
The governor also unbundled the agriculture ministry and created the ministry of crops, irrigation development with Johnson Ebokpo as commissioner .
Similarly, Ntufam Emmanuel Anom was assigned the new .inistry of livestock, aquaculture and fisheries development.
Other notable ministries are Human Capital and Entrepreneurial Development and wealth creation and employment with Kingsley Egumi and Patrick Egbede as commissioners respectively.
