The Senior Pastor of Holy Ghost Christian Centre, Dr. Amos Fenwa, has called on Nigerians to return to God and embrace righteousness to overcome the country’s challenges.

In a statement to herald the 16th edition of the Night of Mercy Gospel Concert, to be held on Friday, November 14, Fenwa said this year’s event promises a night of profound worship, fervent prayer, and divine intervention, with thousands expected to gather from dusk till dawn at the 10,000-capacity Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

He described the event’s relevance amid Nigeria’s current struggles. Citing economic hardship, security concerns, and rising unemployment, he emphasized that the concert serves as a divine platform for salvation and national healing.

“Our nation is crying out for divine intervention,” Fenwa declared. “We believe that through this night of worship and prayer, God will touch lives, heal wounds, and bring about positive change. We are trusting God to see a thousand souls saved this year — lives that will be transformed by His power. When that happens, Nigeria’s peace and prosperity will follow.”

He urged Christians to exalt righteousness and participate in politics as a means of promoting godly values in governance.

Founded 16 years ago with a divine mandate to transcend church walls and reach the unsaved, the Night of Mercy has become a spiritual phenomenon that unites believers and seekers alike in a powerful display of faith. After a hiatus during the pandemic, when the event was restricted to church premises, organizers are thrilled to return to the grand stage of Onikan Stadium — a move seen as a bold declaration of faith and revival for Nigeria’s spiritual landscape.

This year’s lineup boasts renowned gospel ministers including Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Bidemi Olaoba, Efe Nathan, Simisola Agbebi, and Lady Prudence. Their powerful ministrations are expected to catalyze miracles and divine breakthroughs among the attendees. The event will also feature special prayers for Nigeria’s leaders and the nation’s future.

Past editions have attracted prominent guests, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State First Lady Dr. Bamidele Abiodun. Invitations have been extended to several other state governors, underscoring the event’s significance as a national gathering for spiritual revival and unity.
