The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria officially entered a new phase of leadership recently with the investiture of Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, OFR, mni, NPOM, FCILT, as its 21st president and chairman of council.

Dr. Oyeyemi is the former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The ceremony, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Victoria Island, Lagos, was attended by industry leaders, government dignitaries, and CILT members from across the federation.

A Distinguished Occasion

The event was chaired by the former Lagos State Governor and  Minister of Works and Housing, Raji Fasola, SAN, CON, with Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka serving as the Special Guest of Honour.

Dr. Oyeyemi, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, succeeds Barrister Mrs. Mfon Usoro, FCILT, whose administration was commended for its achievements in membership expansion and institutional compliance.

Unity, Professionalism, and Project 2027

In his inaugural address, themed, “Building on Our Legacies, Uniting Every Member, and Positioning CILT Nigeria as a Global Force in Transport and Logistics,” Dr. Oyeyemi unveiled a bold reform blueprint.

The cornerstone of his agenda is “Project 2027,” a concerted legislative push to secure an Act of Parliament that would formally recognise CILT Nigeria as the nation’s regulatory professional body for logistics and transport.

Dr. Oyeyemi pledged that the new administration was committed to eight strategic pillars for growth, which include:

* Achieving a 60 percent growth in individual membership and doubling corporate participation.

* Establishing a Road Transport Sector Council to improve collaboration with regulators, unions, and fleet operators.

* Revitalizing the Digital Academy and instituting a national mentorship scheme.

* Driving Digital Transformation and enhancing Employer Recognition of CILT qualifications.

Dr. Oyeyemi emphasized that CILT Nigeria must not remain a spectator in a changing world but must lead the transformation of the logistics and transport sectors.

CILT Nigeria is the professional heartbeat of the nation’s transport, logistics, and supply chain sectors, with a legacy spanning over six decades since its establishment in 1958.
