Catholic Priest, Ebube Muonso, calls on Tinubu to revamp Nigeria’s economy

Popular Charismatic Anambra Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, has called on President Bola Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, make meaningful efforts towards revamping the economy to reduce the sufferings of the masses and save the country from impending danger.

Father Obimma popularly known “Ebube Muonso” made call while speaking to journalists at Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church, Umudioka in Dunukofia Council Area, shortly after Mass yesterday

Reverend Father Obimma who observed that Nigerians have been in extreme hardship IN the past seven months of the Tinubu-led administration, which according to him, has led to death of many and massive migration of Nigerians to other countries.

He reminded politicians that revolution is possible in Nigeria, noting that revolution erupts when leaders manhandle the economy to the detriment of the subjects.

The Catholic Priest regretted that Nigeria which is ought to be the envy of other countries of the world has become an object of mockery before its counterparts because of corruption, nepotism, tribalism and selfishness amongst the inhabitants and emphasised the need for all to rise and combine efforts to rebuild the country.

He called on political leaders to learn to make sacrifices in the interest of their subjects and betterment of the society, pointing out that no one can be an effective leader without a life of sacrifice.

Asking the Nigerian judiciary to sit up to its responsibility as the hope of the common man, in order to regain the confidence of the people, Reverend Father Obimma made a case for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Condemning the decision of the Supreme Court to try him for terrorism, he pointed out that Kanu is a mere freedom fighter who was never in any way doing the fighting with weapons or the likes.

The Catholic Priest condemned the alleged ‘indiscriminate demolition’ of houses belonging to Igbo by the state government, describing it as a sheer wickedness and indication that the Igbo were not welcomed in the country, even as he prayed for total restoration for those that lost their property to the incident.

Father Obimma who recently lost his mother, Ezinne Grace Udefi Obimma, aged 88, thanked God for the good life she lived, disclosing that the late mother was the one that motivated him to become a priest, and supported him through prayers and advice throughout her lifetime.

He promised to stick to all the legacies she left behind especially in the area of charity and kindness.
