Buhari extols Ubani’s concern for less privileged

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended human rights activist, Mr. Monday Ubani, for his continued struggle to empower the poor and the less privileged.
In a letter of felicitations on the formal launch of Onyekachi Ubani Foundation  on Saturday at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, Buhari said Ubani’s concern for the poor and the less privileged is exemplary.
Buhari noted that if more privileged Nigerians were like Ubani, the burdens of government would be a lot lightened.
The president’s letter read: “Please accept my felicitations on the formal launch of Onyekachi Ubani Foundation to commemorate your birthday.
“It is significant that the foundation is dedicated to helping the poor and the needy in the society and celebrate those who have made our country proud with virtuous acts. This, I heartily commend and recommend to other well off Nigerians.
“I am very pleased that the foundation launch will be marked by a public lecture, which focuses on one of the things dearest to the heart of this administration, the anti-corruption war.
“Barrister Ubani, you have decided to improve other people’s lives in your own little way. If this is the heartbeat of more privileged Nigerians, then the burdens of government will be a lot lightened…I wish you a very successful launch, a most illuminating lecture and a Happy Birthday.”
Executive governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, alongside other dignitaries like the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina, Femi Falana (SAN), NBA President Augustine Alegeh (SAN), Rev Chidi Okoroafor, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Nigeria, Pastor Chris Okafor, the General Overseer of Liberation City Church, former governors, senators, traditional rulers and beneficiaries of the foundation over the years are expected to grace the occasion.
The key note address will be delivered by Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly.
