Students of Brickhall School, Abuja, hosted their parents, friends, and well wishers, to an art interpretation of the Things Fall Apart a book authored and published some decades ago by renowned Nigerian writer, late Chinua Achebe.
The event took place at the school premises in Abuja and was also attended by other dignitaries from across different social strata, including government officials.
In costume, word lines, sound, lightening, character interpretation, actions, and others, the students kept the attention of their guests for hours, as they experienced a nostalgic memory of the book in a powerful adaptation stage production that celebrates culture, conflict and change.
The school said the objective of the stage play was to connect the students with the practical part of the book they have read, also sharing the spirit and intent of the characters therein, which highlighted the rich culture of Nigeria.
Chairman of the School, Senator Joy Emodi, noted that the stage play was an opportunity to tell the story of the different characters in the Things Fall Apart book in practical art production.
Emodi noted that it was also an opportunity for the students to test and hone their acting skills, which might, perhaps, trigger fresh and increase their interest in acting under the guide of the teachers and some other experienced individuals.
