Unpleasant news coming out of the troubled Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State indicate that scores of locals in the local council have been whisked away by the bandits terrorising the state.
The unofficial source put the figure at “over 80”.
This is in addition to about 50 persons kidnapped in the same local government barely a week ago.
This was coming at a time when the federal and the state governments were making efforts to secure the release of about 300 persons kidnapped in Goni Gora and Kuriga areas of Chikun local council about three weeks ago.
A credible source from the area who spoke in confidence hinted that the criminal elements launched a coordinated attack on Tantau ward of Kajuru local council in the wee hour of Monday, March 18, 2024, unchallenged.
“Over 80 persons were abducted in Tantatu of Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state early this morning. We are still counting,” the source said.
According to the source, the affected community where about 50 persons were abducted last week has not heard from the kidnappers ever since.
As the time of this report, both the Kaduna State Police Command and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs have not made any official statement concerning this latest kidnapping episode.
