President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, describing the attack as “cowardly” and expressing deep sorrow for the victims.

The female suicide bomber detonated an improvised explosive device at a crowded food joint last Friday night, killing at least 24 people and injuring many others.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement, said that President Tinubu urged security agencies to intensify efforts to eliminate Boko Haram remnants that use attacks on soft targets as diversionary tactics. He extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State and directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide support to survivors.

The president also sympathised with families affected by a deadly explosion at a scrap metal factory in Kano, last Saturday, which claimed five lives and injured 10 others. He emphasised the importance of workplace safety and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident by relevant government bodies. President Tinubu vowed to ensure justice for the perpetrators. “The purveyors of wanton violence shall have a certain encounter with justice,” he said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to securing Nigerians and eradicating terrorism.
