Boniface mad at FIFA
Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, who has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga, has voiced his frustration over his latest FIFA ratings, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles striker has quickly become a key player in Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side since his move from Union SG, even securing the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award after a stellar debut season where he netted 21 goals and registered ten assists.
However, despite his impressive stats, Boniface’s latest FIFA EA rating rose only slightly from 81 to 82, sparking discontent from the forward.
In a recent video shared by Leverkusen on their social media pages, Boniface expressed his dissatisfaction, particularly with his passing rating, which was set at 66 despite his ten assists during the 2023-24 season.
“Why would you give me 66 for passing when I almost had ten assists? No, it’s bullsh*t,” Boniface exclaimed, questioning the logic behind the assessment.
Despite the rating controversy, Boniface has continued to shine for Bayer Leverkusen, already scoring one goal in three appearances in the new campaign.
His form remains critical for both club and country, with Boniface narrowly missing out on his first international goal during Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
With his performances consistently impressing on the pitch, international and local football fans will be watching to see how Boniface continues to prove his worth this season, regardless of his FIFA rating.
