Boko Haram: Soldiers kill 2 on robbery mission in Borno

Soldiers on internal security operation in Borno State, yesterday, arrested some Boko Haram members on a mission to rob villagers of food, animals and other valuable items.
Acting Director of Army/Public Relations Colonel Sani Usman, who made this known in a statement, yesterday, said the insurgents were arrested along Monguno-Brimari Road by troops of 8 Task Force Division of the Nigerian Army while on fighting security patrol in the area.
Usman said the terrorists, who were on a mission to loot logistics supplies in surrounding villages opened fire on sighting the soldiers who engaged them in a shoutout and overpowered them.
Two of the terrorists were said to have been killed during the shoutout and several arms and ammunition recovered.
Items  recovered from the terrorists including one Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle, loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, one AK-47 rifle and three magazines.
Also recovered from the insurgents were two motorcycles, drugs, wrappers and clothes.
