Stakeholders in Benue State have decried rising insecurity and a spate of killings in the state, saying that there is an urgent need to bring the situation under control.
The stakeholders, including politicians and prominent Benue indigenes, who spoke at the unveiling of the Benue 2027 Roadmap in Abuja, said there must be concerted efforts to address the security situation in the state.
The Benue Roadmap 2027 unveiling, which was organised by the Markolima Consultancy Academy (MACA) in collaboration with the Nigerian Good Governance Initiative (NGGI), is intended to open dialogue on the security and unemployment challenges, as well as industrial stagnation confronting the state ahead of the 2027 polls.
There has been lingering insecurity in Benue State, leading to incessant killings and displacement of many people in the state from their homes.
One of the speakers at the event, Dr Simon Ater, in his presentation, said there is a link between youth neglect, economic stagnation to insecurity.
