Benue rerun: Declaration slated for 3pm

Results of the supplementary elections which held in 22 out of the 23 local government areas of Benue State were on Sunday morning presented to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the local government returning officers.

The results showed that Governor Samuel Ortom of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won in 17 local government areas while his closest challenger, Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in five local government areas.

However, INEC’s Returning Officer for the State, Prof. Sabastine Maimako, announced the postponement of the final collation and declaration of winner till 3pm today.

Below is the final result as presented by the returning officers in the 22 local government areas where the supplementary elections held.
