The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Benue State Command, has paraded four suspects for sundry crimes including a suspected rapist, one Sunday Gbanger, for defiling an 11 year old.

The State Commandant, Yakubu Ibrahim, who paraded the four suspects at the Command Headquarters in Makurdi, vowed that there would be no hiding place for outlaws under his watch.

Ibrahim, through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, (PRO), Michael Ejelikwu, a Superintendent of Corps, (SC), told newsmen that the rape suspect, Gbanger Terkimbi Sunday, 25years old, had a carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl at Mbakumur Peivi community of Guma Local Government Area,(LGA), in Benue State.

He said the suspect was arrested on January 25, after medical examination/findings revealed that his victim had physical injuries among others on her private part.

Speaking to newsmen after his parade, the suspect, Sunday Gbanger, admitted committing the crime.

He said he was teaching the minor sex on her request.

The NSCDC also explained that the second suspect, a 27-year-old Abdullahi Ali, popularly called “Rayyamu and two pack” was arrested on February 5, 2024, at about 11:49 am at Ankpa quarters in Makurdi for criminal conspiracy, theft, armed robbery and cheating.

Ali was also said to have escaped twice from the NSCDC custody and once from the police custody even on handcuffs before he was again apprehended by the civil defence officers.

The suspect told newsmen that he ran away because of suffering in detention. He urged the law to tamper justice with mercy in his case as he was ready to turn a new leaf.

Meanwhile the other two suspects, Aliyu Ali, 32, and Mustapha Aliyu, 27, who are both drivers were nabbed at Ugbokpo in Apa LGA on February 4, for vandalism, theft and wilful destruction of critical national assets and criminal conspiracy.

The NSCDC PRO said the both suspects were also in possession of stolen MF375 tractor suspected to belong to either Benue or Nasarawa States government but had been recovered from them.

SC Ejelikwu said that further investigation was ongoing on the matter and that the suspects would soon be charged to court or handed over the appropriate bodies for prosecution.
