He said “Out of the 10, eight people died, four female adults and three male adults and one female child. Two persons were injured and were taken to Kastina-Ala General hospital for medical attention.”

He explained that “It was a head-on collision; one of the vehicle was trying to avoid a pothole and rammed into an oncoming vehicle. I guess it was as a result of over speeding otherwise they would have been able to manoeuvre their way,” he said.

However, a witnesses who didn’t want to be named said 12 people were involved in the accident as the golf had nine passengers while the Nissan had three passengers.

He said while eight persons had died on the spot, four others who sustained various degrees of injuries and were conveyed to the hospital had also died as at press time.
