Telecommunication giant, Etisalat, has a new brand ambassador. She is sensational soul singer, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye popularly known as Simi.
Speaking at the formal signing of an agreement between the telecommunications company and Simi held in Lagos last Friday, Director, Brands and Experience, Etisalat Nigeria, Elvis Ogiemwanye, said the outfit is happy to welcome Simi into the Etisalat family.
He added that the decision to sign the youthful and talented artiste further affirmed Etisalat’s commitment to encouraging and supporting home grown talents in different endeavours including art, sciences or even business, to realise their potentials.
“All of us at Etisalat heartily welcome Simi into the Etisalat family. We are especially excited at the final choice of Simi as our new brand ambassador because she perfectly fits into the set of tough criteria and painstaking selection process that we set for anyone who wants to be the Etisalat ambassador. She has good character, integrity and creativity,” he stated.
Ogiemwanye said further that being a highly talented singer, Simi has proved her worth within a short time of her entry into the Nigerian entertainment industry, and that she is a source of positive inspiration to majority of young Nigerians.
Commenting on her choice as the new Etisalat brand ambassador, Simi expressed joy and fulfillment at her new role as the face of the telecom brand, and commended Etisalat for its unwavering commitment to the creative industry and talent development in Nigeria.
“I am elated by this milestone in my music career; it is a big boost and I commend Etisalat for supporting home grown talents,” she enthused.
Since its launch into the Nigerian market in 2008, Etisalat has consistently supported several talent development initiatives including the sponsorship of DJ Xlusive All Whilte Party, Kado Picnic, and Be A Nigerian concert among others.
