Ayobo-Ipaja, foundation fete widows, widowers

The Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State in partnership with Bluebaby Support Initiative, an NGO, on Wednesday provided essential support to 100 widows and widowers.

Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Comrade Mayowa Amuwa disclosed this in a statement sent to Daily Sun.

According to the statement, the initiative involved distributing raw food items and clothing materials to beneficiaries.

The event, which took place at the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA headquarters, brought together community leaders, beneficiaries, and representatives from Bluebaby Support Initiative.

Amuwa said the distribution exercise was part of the LCDA’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable members of the community.

Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Lukmon Agbaje, expressed appreciation for Bluebaby Support Initiative’s partnership, highlighting the importance of putting smiles on the faces of the aged and vulnerable.

The council boss, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Babatunde Ajose, noted that his administration remains committed to people-oriented programmes.

“The Executive Chairman is committed to ensuring that the needs of our constituents are met, and we are grateful to Bluebaby Support Initiative for joining hands with us to make this happen,” he said.

CEO of Bluebabyl Support Initiative, Mrs. Aisha Ogieriakhi, thanked the council chairman for his warm reception and promised a stronger partnership.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA on this initiative. We believe that giving back to the community is a responsibility we all share, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to support those in need,” she said.

The beneficiaries, who were visibly moved by the gesture, expressed their gratitude to Bluebaby Support Initiative and Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA for their kindness and support.

Amuwa said the collaboration demonstrates the power of community-driven efforts to uplift vulnerable individuals.

“Bluebaby Support Initiative and Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA remain committed to making a positive impact,” the statement further reads.
