Chairman of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori, has instituted a N10 billion lawsuit against Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State for gross violation of his rights.
In the suit filed by his lawyers, Ballason’s Chambers, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Maikori alleged undue harassment and intimidation by the Kaduna State Government, Governor el-Rufai and the Nigeria police. He is praying the court to enforce his fundamental rights agains
The suit came up for hearing before the trial judge, John Tsoho on Tuesday.
Maikori, a native of Southern Kaduna, had been at the forefront of an advocacy to bring attention to the killings in the area.
He was arrested by the police on charges of incitement based on a petition by the Kaduna state government attributed to his false tweet of killings in a town in Southern Kaduna.
He later retracted the statement and apologised when he discovered it was false.
