Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is hale and hearty, his media office has said.
An online medium had reported that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain had fallen ill and was placed on bed rest.
But in a statement issued on Monday night, Atiku Media Office said the ex-VP is hale, hearty, and fully engaged in preparations for the ADC screening and primary election.
The statement reads, “Following the submission of his nomination forms on Thursday, the Waziri Adamawa observed Juma’at prayers at the mosque on Friday and has remained actively engaged in high-level consultations and strategic meetings with key party stakeholders as part of the ongoing democratic process.”
The Atiku Media Office described the report of the purported ill health as “fiction”.

“It is unfortunate that a platform that should be guided by facts has chosen the path of reckless speculation, anonymous gossip, and manufactured falsehoods.
“Journalism is not rumor peddling, it is a sacred pact with truth and facts,” the Media Office stated.
It tagged the report as “mischievous”, urging Nigerians to disregard it in its entirety.
“The ADC chieftain remains strong, focused, and fully prepared for the task ahead,” the statement further reads.
