Global technology company, ASUS, in partnership with Konga, has opened its first flagship experience store in West Africa, marking a significant expansion of the brand’s retail presence in Nigeria.

The facility in Lagos was officially inaugurated on Monday by Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.

Speaking at the event, Udeh described the opening of the store as a major boost for Nigeria’s digital economy, saying it reflects the confidence of global technology companies in the country’s innovation ecosystem and market potential.

According to the minister, the investment goes beyond the establishment of a retail outlet, noting that it demonstrates the growing attractiveness of Nigeria as a destination for technology investments.

He said the Federal Government remains committed to strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors to accelerate innovation and support its economic growth agenda.

Udeh also commended Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, for his contributions to Nigeria’s digital transformation, disclosing that the technology entrepreneur has agreed to champion the Federal Government’s Youth and Students in Innovation initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerians with digital and entrepreneurial skills.

He urged international technology firms to deepen their engagement in Nigeria by partnering with the government to drive innovation and national development, assuring investors of an enabling environment for sustainable business growth.

Speaking earlier, ASUS E.EMEA General Manager, Aaron Tsai, said the flagship experience store was established to provide customers with easier access to genuine ASUS products and enhance the overall customer experience.

He expressed confidence that the partnership with Konga would strengthen the company’s presence in Nigeria and improve customer engagement across the region.

The experience centre showcases ASUS’s range of products, including premium laptops, gaming devices and AI-powered computers. It also features interactive digital displays designed to enable customers explore products before making purchase decisions.

Customers purchasing ASUS devices from the flagship store or through Konga’s online platform will also benefit from a one-year replacement warranty.

Also speaking, Chief Operating Officer of Konga Group, Dave Omoregie, said the initiative aligns with the company’s strategy of integrating online and offline retail channels to improve customer experience.

According to him, Konga’s nationwide logistics network, digital payment infrastructure and retail outlets provide global brands with the platform required to serve Nigerian consumers efficiently while guaranteeing product authenticity and after-sales support.

He added that the partnership with ASUS underscores Konga’s commitment to expanding access to quality technology products and strengthening Nigeria’s technology retail ecosystem.
