Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, Jos and all allied institutions in Plateau state have joined the 2-week warning strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).

The institutions include the College of Health Technology, Zawan, and it’s counterpart in Pankshin and College of Arts, Science and Remedial Studies, Kurgwi.

The non academic staff also joined the strike, called by the union to protest what it described as the disposition of government towards executing the terms of a work plan agreed in the union’s last meeting with the Federal Ministry of Education and other

stakeholders on the 23rd of October, 2024.

Chairman of ASUP in Plateau State, Samuel Mahanan Dang, told our correspondent in Jos on Monday that the chapter had no option than to abide by the directive of the national body since the federal government has remained adamant to the union’s demands.
