A leading chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nuhu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration towards addressing the immediate needs and concerns of communities in Northern Nigeria.

Delivering his remarks on Sunday night at the Third Phase of the Public Enlightenment Project on the Performance of the Administration in Northern Nigeria, Abdullahi disputed claims that the administration had under-delivered on its promise to the people of the region.

He stressed that such claims were unfounded, untrue, and misguided, adding that those who float them certainly did not wish to serve the collective interests of the region.

The occasion, which featured talks, debates, and film slides of successfully completed and ongoing execution of infrastructural projects across the North, was attended by party stalwarts, student groups, and youths from Kano and adjoining states.

Daily Sun reports that among the projects in the film slides were the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, which is designed to bring quality healthcare closer to families in the North-East and reduce the burden of long-distance medical travel, as well as the Gashua to Potiskum Road and the Gembu link-up to Cameroon.

Abdullahi stressed that, despite the tilting challenges facing the nation at the moment, the region has recorded steady and meaningful developments since the coming of the administration in 2023.

He urged the region to remain united in their support, saying that, “What is needed now is unity, responsible engagement and collective support for these efforts so that Northern Nigeria continues on the path of stability and growth”.
