The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday vowed to wrest power from Governor Chukwuma Soludo during the 2025 governorship election.

The party made this known during an enlarged stakeholders meeting held in Awka, the state capital, where its members officially received the Senator representing Anambra South, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah and former Senator who represented Anambra Central and Director General of Southeast Governors’ Forum, Chief (Mrs) Uche Ekwunife with their supporters, into the party.

Others who were received at the meeting were former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Ugwa, and former member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. John Nwokeji.

The state Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike while addressing the stakeholders said that the flag of the party would fly in the Government House, Awka come 2025, saying that only this would make him to be fulfilled.

“We can achieved this great feat if we want because the manpower and resources are readily available. Year 2025 affords us yet another opportunity to contest and win Anambra State Government House. Let us as one family work towards achieving this goal for our party,” he pleaded.

Ejidike while welcoming the new members said that their sojourn in the land of the progressives would bear greater fruits for their benefits and that of the party.

“I enjoin you the new members not to fail to sustain their dogged and positive humanitarian spirits, which is their hallmark. We urge you to double this inherent spirit in your service to the party. The APC will definitely provide you the platform to do more in this regard. I pledge our unalloyed support and cooperation in all our dealings with all of you. Please, rest assured that the party is large enough to accommodate everyone’s political aspirations,” he stated.

The chairman charged the members to be united and shun anti-party activities, saying that members should come together to build a formidable APC structure in the state.

“We have the potentials, resources and enablement to reposition the party in the state. It is my earnest desire that our stakeholders and leaders make conscious efforts towards narrowing their political differences and mistrust, and key into this repositioning process,” he said.

The new members, who were admitted into the party by the leader of the party in the state, Senator Andy Uba, were given the broom symbol of the party.

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in his speech thanked the APC for accepting him, saying that he decided to join the centre to be part of good governance of the Federal Government.

He promised to join hands in building the party in the state, making it stronger than it was before he joined.

Ubah also said that he joined the APC to liberate his state and zone, which he claimed have been held down for 20 years.

Also in her speech, Senator Ekwunife said that she would provide strong support to the party.
