Amore, my role model , encouraged me to join Police – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun  yesterday revealed  that the Asiwaju  of Erinja- Orile  Ayewa, Fiwagboye  of Ilobi, Yewande, Ogun State, Emmanuel  Amore, is his role model who encouraged him to join the Force.

The IGP was speaking during the celebration of Amore, a retired Commissioner of Police   70th birthday in Lagos, said he remained ever grateful to Amore, who encouraged him to joined the police.

The celebration  began at the Chapel of Christ the Light Interdenominational, before the reception at Event Centre,near the African Shrine, Alausa, Ikeja.

I-G Egbetokun and other senior officers celebrated Amore, who they described  as well dedicated retired but not tired officer that is worthy of emulation.

Egbetokun, said that Amore was his role model,” Amore is my friend, he is my role model, I have the privilege of attending all the schools he attended. He is my own brother and he was the one that encouraged me to join the police.

“ Amore is a decent man and he has left a good legacy in the force. The legacy of integrity, of transparency, of professionalism and of discipline, “ he said

The I-G appreciated him for the significant impact that he made in his life, and in the lives of many others, who were there and those who were not there.

The police boss prayed God to continue to bless him and crown him with His glory.

Amore, while giving testimony thanked God for keeping him alive as many of his age mates have  died.

“I thank God for the gift of life, on three occasions, I had escaped death, but God has helped me. Many waters have  passed under the bridge but God has been there for me, “ he said.

Amore said he had served the nation tremendously.

“I was the Force Police Public Relations Officer, I was involved in community policing and I was also CP in two states,” he said.

He encouraged serving policemen to police with integrity.

The preacher, Ven. Taiwo Olupitan, admonished the celebrator to prioritise

his health.

“You are celebrating today because God covenant has being fulfilled in your life.

God has help you to triumph over adversity, so be thankful in all situation.

“May your birthday marks the beginning of good things in your life, “ he said.

He urged Amore to live his remaining years to seek wisdom, being forgiving, and embracing God.

Some  retired officers at the event are : CP Olayinka Balogun, AIG Kehinde Longe, AIG Yetunde Longe, DIG Oshodi Glover, Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) DIG Hashimu Argungu and  many other retired officers.

Other  serving  officers are: Commissioner of Police(CP), Lagos State Command, Olohundare Jimoh, former CP of Lagos Command, Mr Lanre Ishola, Assistant Inspector- General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Mr Adegoke Fayoade,AIG Tunji Disu,among others officers.
