Nigerian billionaire businessman and lawyer, Adewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya is a man with an unwavering magic. He is a mogul who sees good opportunities, invests, and has always succeeded fantastically. Ogunsanya, as a successful legal luminary and investor, wears power suit and is ever prepossessing. He was born into relative wealth but does not seem entitled.

One of Ogunsanya’s smartest investments is in Pay TV via Multichoice Nigeria, the promoters of Nigeria’s leading cable TV network, DStv and GOtv. As chairman of such an entertainment powerhouse worth several billions of naira with millions of subscribers, one can imagine what comes in for the businessman from that investment alone. Certainly, it’s like Ogunsanya living inside the mint. This has pushed the Ikorodu, Lagos-born magnate up the ladder as a respected member of the league of Nigeria’s extraordinary, wealthy gentlemen. In return, Ogunsanya has embraced philanthropy as a payback to the society that sired and bred him.

For some years now, the billionaire has immersed himself in several developmental projects that have lifted his Ikorodu division and its neighbours. Recently, the Odofin of Ikorodu – the fourth to the Ayangburen in hierarchical order— took his benevolent services a notch higher when he announced plans to establish a private university for Ikorodu Division through his group, Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL). Ogunsanya also capped it with the funding of the establishment of a technical college within the division which will be completed and commissioned next year. In reciprocity, several communities have been honouring him to show their appreciation for those several initiatives.

For Ogunsanya, Thursday October 22 was one of those remarkable days. It was a day another honour was added to his already loaded title rack. On this day, all roads led to the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu as His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (Torungbuwa II), the paramount ruler of the Remo kingdom in Ogun State, Nigeria, installed Ogunsanya as the Odofin of Remoland.

‎The Akarigbo had found worthy Ogunsanya’s exceptional and exemplary deeds that shouldn’t go unnoticed and unrewarded. Thus, the monarch, alongside other monarchs across 55 Remo towns, unanimously decided to confer on Ogunsanya the prestigious Odofin title for his selfless service and humanitarian gestures toward the Remoland and its people. After his installation, Ogunsanya played host to prominent Nigerians from far and wide who came to felicitate with one of their own.
