All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is all ‘noise and no substance’.

Igbokwe stated this in a Facebook post on Friday after the party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) held a news conference in Abuja to reject the Electoral Act 2026.

NNPP’s National Chairman, Ajuji Ahmed addressed journalists in the presence of other opposition bigwigs, including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Senator David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, among others.

The opposition parties described the new law, signed by President Bola Tinubu on February 18, as a threat to democracy and an attempt to establish a one-party system in Nigeria.

They vowed to deploy all constitutional avenues to block the implementation of the Electoral Act.

They charged the National Assembly to immediately commence a fresh amendment to the Electoral Act 2026, to remove all obnoxious provisions and ensure that the Act reflects only the will and aspiration of Nigerians for free, fair, transparent and credible electoral process.

In its Facebook post, Igbokwe singled out the ADC for criticism.

He said the party was full of motion without movement and all noise and no substance.

Sharing a photo from the news conference, Igbokwe said, “ADC’s center cannot hold. It has been movement without motion, all noise and no substance, full of sound and fury signifying nothing. It is that bad and it is what it is. You cannot give what you do not have.”
