Benue state Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has sacked three caretaker chairmen in the state.
The caretaker chairmen including that of Gboko, Ukum, and Katsina Ala Local Government Areas, (LGA), were sacked after by the Benue state House of Assembly after the House receive communication from the Governor to sack and replace them.
According to the Chief Press Secretary, (CPS), to the Speaker, Raphael Akume, the Chairman of Gboko LGA, Tavershima Agber Abraham have been replaced by Verlumun Avar while Rev Pastor Gideon Haanongon of Ukum LGA have been replaced with Victor Iorzaa.
The CPS also stated that the caretaker chairman of Katsina Ala, Francis Zazan has been replace with Justin Shaku.
A statement signed by Mr Akume and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Tuesday, said the Caretaker Chairman of Ukum, Katsina-Ala, and Gboko local government were sacked for gross misconduct, embezzlement of local government revenue funds and indulging in unwholesome activities unbefitting of the office the Chairman of a local government.
Reading the letter on the floor of the Assembly, the speaker, Aondona Dajoh after getting the express approval of members directed the sacked chairmen to handover to their deputies immediately.
He said the house has gone ahead to confirm the names sent to them by Governor Hyacinth Alia.
“Hon. Tervershima Abraham Agber is sacked as Caretaker Chairman and replaced by Hon. Verlumun Avar, for Gboko local government.
“Rev. Pastor Gideon Haanongon is sacked as Caretaker chairman and replaced by Hon. Victor Iorzaa for Ukum local government.
“Hon. Francis Zazan is sacked as caretaker chairman and replaced by Hon. Justin Shaku for Katsina Ala government,” the statement said.
