Akure explosion: Eze Ndigbo Mekong urges Southwest to secure homeland

Miffed by the explosion, which rocked Akure-Owo road in Ondo State where scores were injured and buildings destroyed, the Eze Ndigbo Mekong, (Amb) HRH Uzochukwu Jerome Ezeneche has called on Yoruba people of South west to stand up and secure their homelands from incessant explosions.

In a statesmen, the royal father said the Akure blast coming  two weeks after similar explosion which was blamed on gas explosion rocked Abule Ado area of Lagos State was becoming a thing of concern to him and other Nigerians in the Diaspora

While commiserating with  victims of the Explosion, the royal father call on the Federal Government  to  unravel reasons for explosions  with its devastating  effect on innocent Nigerians.

In a message to Aare  Ona kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams, Ezeneche said it was time for the Southwest  to put the regional security outfit (Amotekun) into use so as to check the menace.

On the COVID-19, The royal father said although the lockdown which has confined many people to their homes is a welcomed development to check spread of the pandemic, the FG and state governors should work out palliatives to cushion the economic hardship as-well-as secure lives and properties of the citizens “Government can not ask people to stay at home while explosion continue to destroy lives and property in some part of the country.” He said.
