Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has ordered the governing council of the state-owned Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko to reinstate all sacked lecturers .
Akeredolu said his administration believed in justice and truth, hence the reinstatement of the sacked lecturers.
The lecturers, who were sacked during the administration of former governor Olusegun Mimiko had dragged the governing council and management before a state High Court before reprieve eventually came their way.
The governor, who described the reinstatement of the sacked lecturers as victory for truth over falsehood, enjoined the recalled staff to rededicate themselves to duty and cast aside all bitter recriminations and animosity against perceived adversaries. “This administration’s commitment to justice and equity is unwavering. We have resolved to ensure that justice prevail in all affairs in the state, and this we shall pursue to the letter,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu has approved the appointment of a former member of the House of Assembly, Olugbenga Edema as the chairman of the State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, the governor said the appointment became imperative to ensure the development of the state.
Other members of the commission include Dr. Victor Koledoye (secretary), Mrs M. Witherspoon, Mr. Olumide Ikuepenikan and Mr. Ikoto Agabra Atili as members.
