Nigerian recording artiste, Ajogu Zekeri, has continued to build momentum with his REVIVE Movement, a rapidly growing grassroots concert initiative dedicated to inspiring spiritual awakening, creative expression and cultural transformation among young people through music.
Ajogu, who spoke to our correspondent in Makurdi, Benue State, said, since its launch in 2022, the movement has evolved into a dynamic touring platform, reaching audiences across multiple Nigerian cities, including Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Minna, Lokoja and Akure.
He noted that through a series of independently organized and self-funded concerts, he has created a unique model of live music engagement that brings revival-focused artistic experiences directly to communities.
In 2023, the movement deepened its grassroots impact by hosting concerts across eight communities within Abuja, while subsequent tours in 2024 extended its reach to additional cities.
In 2025, Ajogu introduced an innovative format by organizing five consecutive REVIVE concerts across Abuja communities, collaborating with supporting artists to deliver a continuous, city-wide revival experience.
Ajogu’s passion for communal impact through live music is traceable back to 2016, when he founded The Headlights Music Festival in Lagos.
Beyond live performances, Ajogu’s artistic work also includes recorded music that reflects the same themes of faith, healing and personal transformation. His most recent album, “The Therapeutic Tape,” released in March 2023, explores deeply introspective themes centred on emotional healing, spirituality and self-reflection.
The project continues to gain renewed attention as Ajogu actively re-releases the album while developing new music.
The REVIVE Movement is driven by a clear vision; to create spaces where music becomes a catalyst for young people to encounter Jesus Christ afresh.
By bringing together artists, audiences and communities, the movement seeks to inspire a generation to rediscover faith, purpose and identity through creative expression.
Ajogu said: “The vision of REVIVE is to see revival, reformation and faith awakened in the hearts of young people. Through music and art, we believe people can encounter Jesus Christ in a real and transformative way, and from that encounter a cultural shift can begin.”
With a growing footprint across Nigeria and plans for future expansion, Ajogu said he is positioning the REVIVE Movement as a platform with the potential to extend beyond national borders, connecting artists and audiences globally through music, faith and shared cultural experience.
