Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa has assured that the security and welfare of all the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state are guaranteed, saying that measures have been put in place to guarantee their safety.

This is even as the Governor urged corps members to make meaningful use of the knowledge and skills acquired during the orientation course in contributing to the development of their host communities.

The Governor gave the charge while speaking through the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC ) in the state, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare at the Passing Out Ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko on Tuesday.

The Governor encouraged the corps members to participate actively in Community Development Service projects, identify genuine community needs and work collectively to address them in order to leave lasting legacies after their service year.

He said Ondo State is peaceful, hospitable and culturally rich, noting that the people are warm, friendly, accommodating and well cultured.

Also, Governor Aiyedatiwa advised thecorps members to respect local customs and traditions while maintaining cordial relationship with their host communities.

He urged them to remain neutral in local, political and traditional matters.

The Governor assured the corps members of the commitment of the state government to their security and welfare, stating that necessary measures had been put in place to ensure a safe and conducive environment for them.

He added that the government would continue to collaborate with security agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders to protect their wellbeing throughout their service year.

Reflecting on their journey through the orientation course, he noted that many of the corps members arrived at camp with limited understanding of the ideals of the scheme but had been transformed through rigorous training, structured lectures and guided interactions.

He stated that they had been exposed to the true meaning of patriotism, national unity and selfless service and had been prepared to serve Nigeria with dedication and purpose.

He emphasized that the lessons of teamwork, leadership, tolerance, discipline, honesty and hard work learnt in camp should guide them throughout their service year and beyond.

He reminded the corps members that Nigeria looks up to them as future leaders, innovators and change agents and urged them to serve with sincerity, courage and vision while working for peace, unity and national progress.
