The Nigerian Air Force War College, (AFWC), has inaugurated 17 officers, including two foreigners, into the Air Force War Course 9/2023.
The Commandant, AFWC, Air Vice Marshal, AVM Abraham Adole, who spoke during the inauguration, in Makurdi, on Friday, said the inauguration was the ninth course in the series of the Air Force War Course which commenced in November, 2016.
Adole said the inauguration marks a significant milestone in the careers of the participants as it signals their elevation to the all important operational level of their military career.
He said, “The course you are about to commence is designed to equip you with the essential competencies you would need to proffer creative solutions to the complex and multifaceted security challenges which characterise that level.
“The course will sharpen your understanding of Air Power and its employment in independent, joint and combined operations, emphasizing its utility in addressing these complex problems.”
Adole who took over the headship of the college on the 10th of January, 2023, assured that deliberate efforts have been made to offer best administrative and welfare services for the participants and urged them to show reciprocal commitment by being hard working, resourceful and disciplined in punctuality, presence, participation and perseverance in all they do.
Also speaking, Air Vice Marshal Precious Amadi, who was the guest of honour, noted that Nigerian Armed Forces is currently grappling with unprecedented security challenges saying it would require creativity, innovation and visionary operational leadership to address them.
He congratulated the participants and urged them to be committed to be fully committed to benefitting from the objective of the programme, as knowledge and skills they would acquire are critical on achieving the vision of the Chief of Air Staff and fulfilling the mission of the Nigerian Air Force.
While congratulating the participants, AVM Amadi urged them to make hard work and dedication their watch word and be prepared to justify their inclusion on the course.
