Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to the people of the state to ignore false labelling of the state as he restated his commitment to continue to be fair to all without discrimination.
Speaking at the 2nd edition of his stewardship programme tagged ‘Ipade Imole,’ at Oba Adekunle Aromolaran event center, Ilesa, on Tuesday, Adeleke disclosed that Imole Youth Corps he promised during his electioneering would be unveiled soon because all issues that delayed the start of the programme have been resolved.
He said his government has achieved tremendously in the last 16 months of his administration, noting that he has maintained a fair balance between ‘stomach infrastructure’ and hard capital infrastructure.
Adeleke also insisted that he did not borrow despite the ‘huge liabilities’ he inherited from the previous government, saying “If anybody tells you this administration has borrowed money, tell the person he is a liar.
“Additionally, I ask us to ignore false labeling of the intentions of this administration. I am committed totally to equality of treatment and fairness to all segments of the state. Our programs and appointments are designed without favoritism irrespective of which parts of the state you hail from. The facts and figures are out there to prove that our government is for all and sundry,” Adeleke added.
He listed his achievements in the areas of infrastructure, health, sport, education, agriculture, and solid mineral sector, saying “Our Government is putting pressure on the Federal Government to remit the share of solid mineral states from the mining royalties being paid to the Federal Government.
Earlier, Adeleke had flagged off the dualization of Ereja Square-Imo-Ilesa/Akure expressway at Ilesa and promised that the project would completed within 12 months.
He said, “And so today, we are flagging off the dualization of this road which by the grace of God shall be completed in 12 months. This road which is 6.2 km long with a 9.0m width of each carriageway with a median installed with solar street lights, walkway,y, and a boulevard at some section of the road shall bring out the glory of Ijesha land.
“The Dualization of this road is divided into two sections which will be done simultaneously at a total cost of N16,570,862,248.07. After due compliance with procurement laws, section one of the project was awarded to Horizon Nigeria Limited while the second section will be handled by Showie-tee Global Services Limited.
