An indigenous airline, Aero Contractors has sacked over 100 workers as part of new efforts to remain in business.
In recent months the airline has seen its fortune dwindle with its fleet depleted from 12 to just four functional aircraft. Aero is also indebted to several banks to the tune of about N200million a trend that had forced the Asset Management Corporation of Nigerian (AMCON) to take over the management of the airline.
A Source within the airline told aviation correspondents that most of the affected workers were on contract to the airline. Letters terminating the employment of the workers were also dispatched to them on Thursday.
