The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), has dismissed concerns over alleged divisions within the party in Osun State, describing existing disagreements as minor issues that pose no threat to the party’s electoral prospects.
Adegoke gave the assurance over the weekend while speaking at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council Guest Platform, where he addressed questions on the state of the party and preparations for future elections.
According to him, disagreements are a common feature of political parties and should not be interpreted as signs of a looming crisis within the APC.
“In every political party, there would be disagreement. We have our own fair share of internal disputes, but it is manageable,” he said.
The senior advocate noted that party leaders were already engaging members who had expressed dissatisfaction, adding that their concerns were being carefully addressed.
“People resigning are only giving us advance notice. They will still be engaged. The party, as we are, is already discussing the sources of their concerns,” Adegoke stated.

He expressed confidence that the party would emerge stronger, insisting that the disagreements within its ranks were insignificant and would not affect its chances in future elections.
“Our internal disagreements are minor and minute, and they will not affect our chances,” he said.
Adegoke also dismissed speculation that former Osun State Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, might leave the party, expressing confidence that the veteran politician would remain in the APC.
“Senator Iyiola Omisore will not move away from the APC. He is a wise politician, and I respect his sense of politicking. He won’t go that way,” he said.
The APC chieftain further expressed optimism about the party’s chances in future elections, maintaining that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was no longer a formidable force in the state.
He claimed that the PDP had failed to effectively manage its internal affairs, while many of those who contributed to its victory in the 2022 governorship election had since aligned with the APC.
“Our chances of success are confident. The PDP could not manage its own party, and they want to win the state. The people who assisted them to win the 2022 election are now in the APC,” he said.
