The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its most recognisable Yoruba-language actors, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The veteran actor died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after a battle with cancer. His daughter, Kira Taiwo, confirmed the development during an emotional Instagram Live session.
Ogogo’s death came only days after his daughters, Kira and Lima, publicly sought medical assistance for their father after revealing the seriousness of his illness.
