At the 4th Annual AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF 2025), held from July 28 to 30, 2025, in St. George’s, Grenada, Adewale Dosunmu reaffirmed the growing importance of the Caribbean particularly the Commonwealth of Dominica in advancing structured investment mobility and deeper economic cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean.

ACTIF 2025, jointly hosted by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Government of Grenada, convened political leaders, financial institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to strengthen south–south trade, investment flows, and institutional partnerships. Among the central discussions was the role of Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programs as tools for economic resilience, foreign direct investment, and global mobility.

Dominica stands as one of only five countries worldwide alongside St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, Grenada, and Saint Lucia that operate long-established and government-regulated Citizenship by Investment programs. Widely regarded as a pioneer in the sector, Dominica’s CBI program has played a critical role in financing national development projects, climate resilience initiatives, and infrastructure expansion.

Known as the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean,” the Commonwealth of Dominica is a stable parliamentary democracy recognized for its strong governance framework, investor-friendly policies, and commitment to sustainable development. Its citizenship program has become a trusted pathway for global investors seeking enhanced mobility, security, and access to international markets.

Adewale Dosunmu, Managing Partner for West Africa at Global Citizen Consultants (GCC) a government-approved investment advisory firm and member of the Investment Migration Council in Geneva used the ACTIF platform to spotlight Dominica’s strategic relevance within Africa–Caribbean investment diplomacy. GCC has been instrumental in guiding investors across multiple jurisdictions, including Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean, with a growing focus on structured CBI opportunities.

On the sidelines of ACTIF 2025, Dosunmu met with the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, reinforcing dialogue around investment confidence, global mobility, and private-sector participation in national development.

Reflecting on the engagement, Dosunmu stated:
“Dominica represents a powerful example of how well-structured citizenship by investment programs can drive sustainable development while offering global investors credibility, mobility, and long-term value. Strengthening collaboration between Africa and countries like Dominica is essential to unlocking shared economic growth.”

Throughout the forum, Dosunmu also engaged with senior policymakers, financial executives, and institutional leaders, aligning private capital with public-sector priorities and reinforcing the role of trusted advisory firms in shaping cross-border investment outcomes.

As ACTIF continues to evolve as a premier platform for Africa–Caribbean cooperation, Dosunmu’s engagement in Grenada highlighted Dominica’s position not only as a CBI leader but also as a key partner in a broader vision of south–south economic integration driven by policy alignment, private capital, and strategic global mobility.
