Commissioner of Police, Mr Mustapha Mohammed Bala, said: “The command has dealt with the hoodlums in Aba, Ohafia and Umuahia. The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested 10 suspected armed robbers and cultists in Aba and Arochukwu. They are members of Black Axe and Eiye confraternities.

“The command has imbibed community policing and how to have good relationship with the public including vigilance groups and the hunters. This has enabled them to flush out hoodlums out of the state.

“It prompted the police Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS) to crack some kidnappers. They were arrested in their hideouts in Aba. The suspects confessed and investigation is going on.

“The Aba-Owerri Expressway and Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway have been under constant patrol. We have flushed out criminals on those roads. We also raided black spots in the state. All the suspects will soon be charged to court.”
