” We are rightly informed that the company , ExxonMobil Nigeria had earlier reached an agreement to pay their ex workers entitlement but refused to carry out the payment till date .

The human right group explained that the sacked workers have informed the public of the planned protest to press home their demands from the oil company .

It stated that the protest was billed to hold on September through the approval of Akwa Ibom state commissioner of Police in AKwa Ibom state who later intervened with the hope that the oil company will do the needful to avoid public demonstration by the ex workers.

It is worthy to note that this protest was initially scheduled to take effect on 27th September via a letter by Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police when it discovered that the oil company had defaulted in their agreement to pay the workers”.
