New Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim is keen to make a difference at Old Trafford but is yet to meet with the most successful manager in the history of the club, Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 39-year-old Portuguese says he will be his own man as against Ferguson who turned to Sir Matt Busby before making his mark while coaching the Red Devils.
Responding to whether he had met the 13-time Premier League winner, Amorim disclosed that it hadn’t happened as there had not been an opportunity to do so.
Amorim also made it clear that copying someone is out of the question and that he will be opting for an entirely different approach.
“No, not yet. I didn’t have that opportunity. It’s hard to copy someone, so I have to be me.
“This is a club that needs and has to win, so we have to show that to our players. But it’s a different time. I cannot be the same guy that Sir Alex Ferguson was.
“It’s a different time and I have to have a different approach – but I can also be demanding with a different approach and that is my focus,” he said, as reported by Mirror.
