The Kebbi State government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) with land certification and other needs to pursue sustainable development.

Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, gave this assurance while receiving the FUBK Governing Council on a courtesy call in Birnin Kebbi.

The council requested support for issuing the Certificate of Occupancy (CoO) for the university’s permanent site, providing buses for student transportation, and addressing other institutional needs. The Deputy Governor assured the council that Governor Nasir Idris would take prompt action on the requests.

He reiterated the state government’s dedication to the education sector, emphasising its importance as the foundation of societal development.

Earlier, FUBK Pro-Chancellor, Ali Abubakar Jatau, appealed to the state government to expedite the CoO issuance, provide buses for student transportation, and continue its support for the university.

He commended the state government for its commitment to FUBK’s development, noting that the university is among those receiving significant support from its host state government.
