Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) President, Ike Neliaku, has outlined a bold new vision to reshape Nigeria’s narrative.

Addressing global and continental PR leaders at NIPR’s 60th anniversary colloquium and special investiture of honorary fellows at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, themed “Public Relations, Value Re-Orientation and Economic Transformation”, he emphasised the institute’s mission to design a fresh direction and perspective for the country.

He highlighted key elements of the “new Nigerian narrative”, including: Rebuilding trust and truth through honest communication and information verification; Instilling hope and fostering “non-violent communication”; Repairing relationships and restoring mutual respect among citizens and Driving citizen reorientation and re-engagement.

Others are ensuring leadership accountability; deliberately promoting made-in-Nigeria products and consciously managing Nigeria’s global reputation

According to the NIPR President if Nigeria was “designed and programmed to fail” by colonial masters, it is now time for Nigerians to “reprogramme Nigeria for genuine transformation and development.”

The NIPR’s bold vision comes as the institute celebrates its 60th anniversary, having been established in 1963 and chartered in 1990.

The colloquium featured endorsements from global PR leaders, including the President of the Global Alliance, Prof. Justin Green, and the President of the African Public Relations Association, Mr. Arik Karani.
