The annual Ramadan Cup was sponsored by Iyk Madu-Obi and supported by Mr Fruit Food & Beverages.

The tourney which was won by Future Stars 99 Football Club had lived up to expectations as coaches, fans and other football stakeholders commended the organisers for the success of the tournament.

In the final played at the Igando Palace playground recently, Future Hero lost to Future Stars 99 FC Igando  6-7 on penalties after a barren draw at theend of regulation time.

Chief Coach of Young Star of Badagry ,Olatunji Sunday Daniel described the tourney a huge success and commended the cup donor for his financial support and Mr Fruit Food & Beverages for its products to the participants throughout the tourney.

“It was a successful competition and we should appreciate the Cup donor, Iyk Madu-Obi for his financial support and secondly Mr Fruit has done well and I commend them for sharing its products to all the fans,”he said.

Igando Coach, Oluwafemi Micheal of Future Stars 99 FC expressed delight that this year’s edition recorded a huge success and thanked the organisers for a job well done.

“Let me use this medium to thank Mr Fruit because the organisers were able to distribute their products to all the spectators who came for the match.This is a good development and added glamour to the competition,” he said.

Match coordinator, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi saluted the efforts of cup donor for his financial commitment to the tournament and called on other football philanthropists in Alimosho to channel their resources towards grassroots football development.

He however frowned at the lackadaisical attitude of government officials at the local government level towards football development.

Yusuf Ismail Kehinde, CEO Yuskeh Global concepts limited, said that the Ramadan Cup has come to stay as a Tournament in Lagos and Ogun States during the Muslim Fasting month, Thanks to the organizer Prince Sulaimon Gbadamosi and Kudos to the sponsor Iyk Madu Obi for being a good example of a philanthropist that does not discriminate between tribes and religion and hope others will emulate him for the country to move forward and be a better place.

“I also appreciate all my guests that graced the final especially  those that came all the way from Badagry.

“As an organiser, I am not happy the way our government officials handle football development especially in the local council of the state. We football organisers need their support in our programme unfortunately they turned their back to us.We are urging them to assist us and show interest in football development,” he pleaded..
