Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze put aside the pressure on him to score his first Serie A goal with a screamer, as AC Milan made it five wins in a row across all competitions as they emerged 3-1 winners against Hellas Verona at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi.
It was Theo Hernandez who got the opening goal of the game moments before the half-time interval as he took advantage of a couple of lucky ricochets to find himself one on one with the goalkeeper, who he poked the ball past.
Christian Pulisic got the second early in the second half as he had the simple job of tapping into an empty net when Noah Okafor’s shot was saved into his path, though Noslin’s rocket of a shot made things nervy again.
Chukwueze’s first goal in Serie A was absolutely worth the wait as he re-established AC Milan’s two-goal lead against Hellas Verona.
Chukwueze’s first real impact off the bench was to score the goal that finally killed the contest, and what a goal it was.
A corner kick from the left was cleared to the Nigerian on the edge of the area and he hit it first time with a beautiful volley into the far corner past a diving Montipo, and the Rossoneri moved three points above Juventus after they dropped points against Genoa.
