The staff members and pupils of the Federal Government College Otobi, Benue State have showered accolades on the Director and Principal of the school, Mr. Amudipe Gabriel Olu for serving as a tool in fostering social integration and national unity.

Olu was applauded during a recent occasion to celebrate his five years service and landmark achievements in the school and community.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Principal Administration Mr. D.Y. Yahaya stated that the Olu had been found worthy over the years as an administrator par excellence in persistently improving human capacity and infrastructural development, students’ welfare as well academics, among others.

Yahaya maintained that the principal remains an unequaled shining star among his contemporaries in administration and knowledge impartation.

According to him, “He has been a tool in fostering social integration and cohesion for national unity and development.”

While wishing Olu well in his future endeavours, Yahaya rated him as the best Principal that the college has had so far.

He listed some of the principal’s accomplishments to include; completion of the abandoned administrative block; building of a canteen for staff and guests; building of a staffroom and the construction of a lawn tennis court

Others were; construction of an ultra modern assembly complex; purchase of a brand new utility bus, erection of solar lights in the school compound; building of new science laboratory, and completion of Benue and Igbudu-eke boys hostel

Also we’re; renovation of girls hostel and building amd completion of a model clinic.

In his response Olu, who was emotional, expressed appreciation to the members of staff for their gesture.

He noted that he was challenged to do more for members of staff and the entire college community.

He urged members to always do the right thing at the right time, while stressing that whatever God has destined one for would surely come to pass at the appropriate season.
