Commissioner of Police, Niger State, Mr Shawulu Mamman, has charged officers to tackle hoodlums terrorising the state after the command arrested 13 suspects. Commissioner of Police said:

“My mission is to make the public and police to have good relationship and imbibe community policing.

“This will assist police to flush out the hoodlums from various communities.

“My officers are up to the task to confront security challenges. I have warned them to shun corruption. They should respect fundamental human rights and protect lives and properties of the people.

“We are ready to checkmate hoodlums and work with other security agencies and vigilance groups including the hunters to smoke out the hoodlums.

“Police operatives arrested some suspected armed robbers, murderers and rapists. We have investigated them and they will soon be charged to court.

“We will carry out confidence building and crime prevention patrol in the environs. I have encouraged my officers to be committed to professionalism, selflessness and service to humanity.

“These will be priorities under my watch. New operation strategies, training and retraining of personnel will be paramount to enhance tactical engagement.
