It was a beautiful crowning of an eventful seven-year friendship turned relationship. Dateline was Sunday 30 July 2023 when the deputy majority leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu finally quit bachelorhood as he put a final seal on his union with Miss Ifenyiwa Morenike Esther Omegara. The colourful wedding which took place at the Classique Event Centre, in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos indeed lived up to its billing. It had in attendance the movers and shakers of Lagos political and social establishments led by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Kadiri; the Lagos Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Obasa; Lagos First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; former deputy governor, Senator Idiat Adebule; and Chief of Staff to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde. Also in attendance were all the members of the State House of Assembly and several monarchs.

The first leg of the wedding had taken place at a private traditional ceremony a fortnight ago hosted by the bride’s father, Hon. Matthew Omegara —a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Isiala Mbano/Okigwe/Unuimo Federal Constituency of Imo State from 2007 to 2015 on the platform of the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
