The Kano State government has revoked the sales of a public hospital, Hasiya Bayero Pediatrics Hospital situated in the state capital with immediate effect.

In a statement, Monday, the government said it has equally revoked the sales of the Governor’s Lodge located at Kwankwasiyya City in the state capital.

The statement which was by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Sanusi Bature, declared that “The Governor has directed for the immediate renovation of the health facility (Hasiya Bayero Pediatrics Hospital) and the reversion of its operations as a Specialist Hospital that cater for the medical needs of hundreds of thousands of children from the state and beyond”.

According to Bature, the Governor gave the directives after he led a delegation of top government officials to inspect the two facilities during the weekend.

According to the statement, the governor expressed displeasure at the fact that the former administration sold these facilities to its cabals for their selfish interests.

He quoted the governor, “As promised during electioneering campaigns, we will not relent in reclaiming public properties either mismanaged or sold via shoddy deal and what was reclaimed would be judiciously utilised for the benefit of people of the state.”
