The wig influencer is a plus-size fashion guru with 3.4m followers on TikTok. The impact of her tips are so huge that she has 75.3 million fans across the world liking her page.

Ammie is a symbol of strength, not only to ladies like herself, but also to plus-size females, whose confidence might have been eroded by being body-shamed and discriminated against. The social media figure who hails from Nkwerre Local  Government, radiates confidence and indirectly tells people like her to accept and be grateful for their body.

According to her, one of the things that motivate her content on fashion is passion and vision of where the industry is heading in Nigeria. However, she frowned at the neglect of people like her by Nigerian cloth line designers. Ammie  lamented that few available sizes for ladies on the big side are expensive.

“One of the major thing I think is yet to be exploited well in the Nigerian fashion industry is the fact that as a plus size lady, we find it very difficult shopping wears in our size because often plus size are cut differently from regular size especially in Lagos, Nigeria.

“It’s very rare to see a plus size store for ladies even for men and it makes us feel like we are not needed in the fashion industry or anything that has to do with fashion in general. And plus size dress can be so expensive. As a plus size lady, I have faced difficulties like this and I have found a way to overcome it by finding other means to create something beautiful. I look forward to owning a plus size store of my own so that ladies out there can come in, shop and be able to express and feel confident in themselves.
