Outgoing Chairman of Aguiyi Ironsi section of Ladipo International Spare Parts Marketm, Emmanuel Mbamara, has urged the new executive of the market to embark on policies that will unite the Igbo traders instead of what will separate them.
Mbamara, who made the call at the swearing in of the new executive council, called for unity among the Igbo traders and urged the new chairman to carry everybody along in his administration.
“Let us see ourselves as brothers because the interest of this market is very paramount. If anybody fail, let him go back to his shop and support the new executive to take this association to greater heights,” Mbamara said.
In the keenly conducted election among the contestants for the various offices, Onyebinanma Chukwuma aka Ikukuoma and Anigbo Cajetan emerged as the chairman and vice chairman of the association respectively.
The duo of Chukwuma and Cajetan won the election in a joint ticket with 514 votes to beat the runner up team, Kelechi Oputa and Okeke Obinna who scored 513 votes to come second in the election.
Aroh Emmanuel emerged as the association’s secretary with 368 votes, while the runner up, Nnaji Emeka who scored 336 votes was chosen as the assistant secretary. Odunukwe Damian, Chukwujuba Echezonachigi were elected as financial secretary and welfare officer respectively.
Other executive members are the Treasurer, Nmereole Ogbonna; Public Relations Officer (PRO), Okafor Sunday; Assistant PRO, Efobi Uchechukwu; Mouka Mmaduabuchi, Nnamani Emmanuel voted as chief provost as well as assistant provost respectively.
